You’re Invited! November 2018

Check out the calendar at www.UUSM.org for more details on special events and our regular activities and interest groups. Except where specifically indicated, the public is warmly welcomed.

Special Events

Saturday, November 10: D4$ Beauty and the Beast Sing-a-Long

Kids of all ages are welcome to sing-along with the film until the last petal drops. Thanks to our hosts, all-you-can-eat gourmet hotdogs from Let’s Be Frank plus popcorn, candy, water, and sodas are all included. New this year: opportunity prizes! If you did not purchase a spot during Dining for Dollars, suggested donation at the door is $15. Costumes encouraged.

Saturday, November 17: Thanksgiving Feast – All Church Potluck

It’s time for the annual Thanksgiving potluck! Attendees are asked to bring food and sign up for a volunteer job. We also need several people to cook turkeys. All are warmly welcome. Be sure to contact Kathy Cook to RSVP.

Saturday, November 17, Conversations and Connections

Come join Sue Stoyanoff and Bettye Barclay at this gathering where you will have one-to-one conversations with at least three people in a structured, small-group environment.  Our guiding intention is to provide opportunities for meaningful connections between individuals in our congregation based on trust and acceptance. (For UUSM members and pledging Friends)

Sunday, November 18: Holiday Craft Fair

There will be a variety of arts and crafts made by church members and guest artists: pottery, jewelry, cards, fused glass, and more. We always have a great selection, for you or for gifts – and the church receives a percentage of the money from everything sold.

Beverly Alison will have a Treasure Table again at the Fair, so if you have unique and seductive treasures to donate, contact her. If you make art or crafty things that you would like to offer for sale, contact Bettye Barclay.

Pageant Time!

Please sign up to play a moving part or to sing in our new pageant to be held December 23 for both Sunday services: the tentative title is“Joseph, Mary, Bethlehem, a Manger, Angeles, and All That.” Contact Kathleen Hogue, uusmdre@gmail.com – and remember the pancake breakfast Saturday, December 22 for all pageant participants and RE families!
