Vera Arutyunyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. In 1991 Vera moved to United States and currently lives in Los Angeles, California. From early childhood Vera demonstrated artistic talents. She is a graduate of Yerevan State University.
Vera Arutyunyan is an Abstract Expressionist artist with a flow of the figurative expressions, all emotionally and spiritually charged. Vera’s works show roughly executed surfaces that combine her dreams as well as her concepts of reality through radiant colors. It is left to the viewer to identify their emotions and interpret the artist’s intentions. Vera’s unique technique combines brave strokes with bare hands to create a clash of emotions; color-infused visions of action painting forever frozen in time.
Vera has participated in a variety of solo and group shows, in biennales, galleries and museums in the United States, as well as in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Russia, Armenia, China, South Korea, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Switzerland, Monaco. Vera stands tall on today’s contemporary art scene for her reinvigoration and renewal not only of a painting style but also a frame of mind.
