A second Soulful Sundown brought people together for food, music, dancing, and community.
On June 16th, set for 7 to 9 pm, UUSM Choir Karaoke Night went almost into the wee hours. Our choir director, section leaders, choir members, and quite a few congregants came up and sang.
Carrying the message of the UU faith’s longstanding tradition of inclusiveness, UUSM was well represented in the 2023 Pride Parade in Hollywood.
I am writing to sing the praises of the music program (pun intended) and of the congregation that makes it possible. I’m feeling a bit prouder than usual of our program. -Sue Bickford
Ten inspired marchers from UUSM joined many others in the 8th Annual Interfaith Solidarity March, sponsored by Institute for Religious Tolerance, Peace and Justice (IRTPJ), on April 30, 2023.
Join us on July 28th for a potluck followed by live performances of popular songs by the likes of Lennon and McCartney, Stevie Wonder and others.
The next discussion group for the UUA Common Read – Mistakes and Miracles – will be on Saturday, July 8 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in Forbes Hall. If you have not yet read the book, copies are available at the church.
