Redux: Faith in Action Phone Bank for Felon Enfranchisement

Felon Rights Restoration in Florida

FIA offers another chance to support Florida’s revolutionary Voting Restoration Amendment (Amendment 4) on the state ballot this November. Florida is one of only four states that ban convicted felons from voting for the rest of their lives. This measure would return the right to vote to Floridians who have done their time and paid their debts (completed their entire sentence, including any probation, parole, and restitution). The amendment would not apply to those convicted of murder or sexual offenses.

Nearly 1.4 million Florida citizens are currently disenfranchised. If Amendment 4 does pass, it will amount to the most significant expansion of voting rights in America since the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965.

We had a good time connecting with Florida voters on Saturday, October 27 and are looking forward to doing it again this Sunday, November 4, 1-4 pm in Forbes Hall. Join us!
