Maybe you’ve noticed that a new banner graces the front of our church, a lovely and colorful vertical beauty that says All Are Welcome.

UUSM has been collecting food to donate to the Westside Food Bank for decades. On our most recent trip to the Food Bank’s Westside warehouse, we received profuse thanks and the appeal to “Keep It Coming!”
At exactly 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 20, tables were set up, then covered in orange cloth, flower arrangements set out, and place settings put down. Potluck dishes arrived. It felt like old times.
After 3 long years, we will have a UUSM church-wide, open-air, midday Thanksgiving celebration Nov 20. It will be a gathering much like those in the past, but outside for safety.
Three cheers for the Women+Community and friends, who hosted UUSM’s very first First Friday Fun event for families. Parents didn’t have to cook (yay!), and the kids had a blast!
We were fortunate. There were more than 50 of us and the fun never stopped. We left rejuvenated and contented, fortunate to visit such a remarkable place.
Dining for Dollars, UUSM’s member-driven fundraiser, is going strong with a number of summer events already having happened, and more to come.
It’s Dining for Dollars time! UUSM members and friends are offering a delightful range of delicious food and drink events, plus goods and services including beautiful arts and crafts.
We’re ready for Dining for Dollars to return! Remember all the enjoyable company, the entertaining and edifying conversations, and the lovely diversity of food prepared by our fellow congregants in the spirit of community? Please volunteer now to be a host: responses to our survey show that people are interested in attending events, most preferring outdoors for the sake of Covid safety. Offers of goods and services are also welcome. Let’s have some fun!
As our congregation has returned to in-person worship services, it also looks like we are ready for Dining for Dollars to return!
