Thanksgiving Celebrations on Sunday, November 23rd

Thanksgiving at UUSM November 23

This Thanksgiving, as we have done in recent years on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we will have TWO church-wide events as we move into the heart of the holiday season.

Worship will begin as usual at 10:30 am, and our usual after-services activities will happen: Lunches for Bunches, of course, and also the Search Committee will be hosting one of its Conversations, where congregants may offer their thoughts on a new minister. New members are especially encouraged to offer input.

Craft Fair

After the service at 11:30 am, the Craft Fair will also be happening in Forbes Hall. Artists from within and without UUSM will be offering their wares and their talents. This is a Church fundraiser with something for everyone.

Food Table 2024

At 1:00 pm, our Annual Thanksgiving Celebration will begin, with an array of traditional holiday food supplied potluck-style by congregants: turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, and pumpkin pie. Please bring a main dish, side dish, or dessert to share.

Animal Ministry encourages people to bring protein-filled vegan and vegetarian dishes to provide a range of sustainable plant-based foods at the feast as well. Please attach a list of ingredients for your dish to help people with allergies or restricted diets.

Green Living will lead a team of volunteers in reducing waste by washing dishes and by maximizing composting and recycling using our new color-coded bins.

This beloved community event requires lots of pitching in, so please be sure to sign-up HERE to let us know what dishes you will bring, to set up or clean up, and to help with dishwashing!
