4/25, 12:30-2:30 pm: CYRE Picnic With Rev. Diana!
Join us at UUSM for this special opportunity to meet our ministerial candidate Rev. Diana Smith! All ages are welcome, so whether you’re a kid, a teen, a parent, or a CYRE volunteer or supporter of any age, join us for food, games, and fun with Rev. Diana and our UUSM community. Please RSVP by filling out this form!
5/3, 3-5 pm: Multigenerational Field Trip with Animal Ministry!
All ages are invited for this trip to Love Always Sanctuary in Sun Valley, where we can meet donkeys, sheep, chickens, and other rescued animals while we learn more about animal rights! Contact animalministry@uusm.org to RSVP, and to connect with carpools. Entry to the barn is $15, which goes towards the care of the animal residents.
5/17, 10 am – 12 pm: CYRE Volunteer Day at the Westside Food Bank!
All ages are invited for a special Sunday morning volunteer day at the Westside Food Bank, where we will help pack food boxes for people in need. It will be a great way to help others and learn more about the organization we collect food for every week! Please RSVP to dmre@uusm.org for more details if you plan to attend. All children under age 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
4/23 Side With Love Action of the Week
This week, Side With Love by signing the Green Faith multi-faith letter to Congress opposing fossil fuel immunity. You can also contact your representatives about your support for environmental justice!
4/16 Side With Love Action of the Week
This week, Side With Love by thanking our California senators, Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff, for voting to block the sale of more bombs and bulldozers to Israel! While the resolution didn’t pass this time, our representatives need to hear our support when they change course to stand against war and genocide. Be an active participant in democracy and make your voice heard!
4/12, 10:30 am: Multigenerational Service for Earth Day!
All ages are invited to join us for this kid-friendly, hands-on service to celebrate Earth Day! We will be sharing art projects that we have been working on in RE, and explore our UU value of interdependence through Jason Gruhl’s beautiful book Everything Is Connected. We will not have RE classes this Sunday, but childcare is still available if needed.

Speaking of our animal friends, I wanted to share a photo of the current residents in my garage – our friendly neighborhood cat, Cousin, and her six babies!
When they are weaned we will be looking for loving homes for them, so if your family is interested in adopting, please let me know! And feel free to share my email address with any prospective cat parents you know. 😊
I had lots of fun Saturday, March 28th, at the California Science Center with our UUSM crew, and I’m looking forward to our next Multigenerational Field Trip, which will be announced soon, so stay tuned!
4/5 after RE: Easter Egg Hunt!
Stick around after RE on Easter Sunday for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! Middle Grades (5th-8th) will hide eggs for the younger kids during RE, and will have their own scavenger hunt challenge with sweet prizes while the Preschoolers and Beginners hunt for treat-filled eggs on the front lawn. (Easter baskets are available to borrow!)

4/9 Side With Love Action of the Week
This week, Side With Love by submitting a public comment opposing the proposed employment authorization reform for asylum applicants, which would radically undermine the ability of future asylum-seekers to receive work permits in the US.
