Interim DRE Jessica Place has accepted an offer from the Board to become our permanent Director of Multigenerational Religious Education. Her weekly work hours have increased from 20 to 30. We welcome Christina Pegus, who will support the office. Christina will assist with membership, and finances, as well as rentals. She can be reached at office@uusm.org or by phone at 310-829-54346, ext. 100 for matters relating to pledges or rentals. Christina will be at the office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Christina was born in Trinidad and Tobago. She came to America at the age of seven and has spent most of her life in Los Angeles. She has two daughters, Chanel and Tessa, and two dogs (a Yorkie, “Fluffy” and a Maltipoo, “Butter”). After years of studying to be a nurse, Christina decided to become an entrepreneur and in 2021 she became a California Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.

Esther was born in rural Pennsylvania and lived some of her childhood in rural Texas. She graduated from Gannon University with a BA in English, Professional Communications, and minored in Fine Art. She worked for twelve years in libraries and adult literacy in the Chicago suburbs before moving to Southern California in 2020. She is a digital artist and has been designing websites since 2000.
