UUSM Youth Celebrate Coming of Age and Bridging Rituals

2024 Coming of Age Youth and Leaders

The May 5th Coming of Age worship service was designed to celebrate our students’ Coming of Age journeys and allow them the chance to share their discoveries. The ten CoA Youth designed and led the service. The Coming of Age curriculum (Becoming/Soul Matters) is a crucial part of our Unitarian Universalist community web, encapsulating the UU quest for spiritual exploration and growth. In UUSM’s Children and Youth Religious Exploration (CYRE) programming, it builds curiosity and compassion as the older youth embark on their own understanding of themselves and the world, while facilitating strong bonds with each other and their leaders.

The Generous Congregation Recipient for the CoA service was Camp de Benneville Pines, the UU retreat center in the San Bernardino Mountains that our youth love to experience together.

Here is the public YouTube video of the service and below that, the Order of Service and a gallery of photographs from the service all taken by our amazing photographer, Carol Ring.

Congratulations to UUSM’s amazing CoA Youth!
