This month, half of our Sunday Offering will go to the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services. Crisis Counseling is available to anyone in the State of California, with in-person and telehealth options.
Didi Hirsch is a local nonprofit that has been serving those most in need and least able to pay for more than 80 years. They provide high-quality mental health, substance use, and suicide prevention services to children, teens, and adults throughout Los Angeles. Didi Hirsch is home to the nation’s first and largest Suicide Prevention Center, which served and trained more than 226,000 individuals in 2023. And Didi Hirsch is part of the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, offering counseling in English and Spanish 24/7/365 days a year.
As a community mental health provider, Didi Hirsch responds to the ever-changing needs of their clients and community through:
- Battling the youth mental health crisis by opening youth drop-in center, Our Third Place. In addition, Teen Line continues to expand its commitment to training more diverse teen line listeners and increase capacity for crisis calls, texts and emails.
- Expanding Enhanced Care Management program to serve more clients with complex social, physical and mental health needs.
- Providing access to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services for substance use clients, increasing the likelihood of long-term recovery while reducing harm.
