The Lunches for Bunches team is making our clothing drive permanent!
Every week, we deliver more than 50 bagged lunches to our unhoused neighbors at the People Concern drop-in center, which offers food, showers and support to the community.
They are ALWAYS in need of clothing. In particular, larger men’s items, including new or gently used socks, underwear (new only please!), sweatshirts, pants, etc.
You can bring these items any week and put them in the marked bin and we will deliver!
We’re also looking for people who would like to host Lunches for Bunches on Sundays. This entails setting up the brown paper bags and food under the shade structure for volunteers to pack and then taking the bagged lunches a short drive (about 10 minutes) to the Center at 503 Olympic Boulevard in Santa Monica. Most hosts volunteer for one Sunday every 4-6 weeks. If you’re interested, please reach out to Rebecca or Lauren at hunger@uusm.org.
Thank you so much for all of your generous support!
Love,
Rebecca and Lauren
