Dining for Dollars: Thinking Outside the Box

Dining for Dollars Banner 2025

Do you find yourself wishing to participate but lack the space? Or do you want to offer something besides a fancy meal? Or maybe you’re not sure you can do it alone?

Dining for Dollars is UUSM’s beloved fundraiser that brings essential money into the church while giving people the chance to meet in community. But this can happen in ways other than the expected “Dinner at My Place” fashion.

Remember that our church campus is an option. Forbes Hall (inside) or the Shade Structure (outside) both offer plenty of space. Not to mention a fully equipped commercial kitchen. You can reserve the space by contacting the UUSM office (Christina’s extension is 100). Your event could be a small private thing or something with many guests.

Work with a community organization. Get a voucher for an experience that the entity has to offer. For example, you could solicit an entry to a museum or a miniature golf park or some other entertainment. This would be a win-win: our congregant gets a free game of golf, and the golf course gets some free advertising.

Find a buddy. Let’s say you want to offer a dinner for six adults at your condo, but feel like you would need some help. There is likely somebody else thinking the same thing, and the two of you could combine your talents and your efforts.

Let us know what you have in mind. Use this form to offer an event or service to get started. We can help you. Just find us after worship services outside in the courtyard, or send us an email at dining4dollars@uusm.org.

Thank you.
