2025’s Biggest Day of Protest So Far – TODAY, April 5th!

HandsOff No Elon - No Mandate April 5 Mobilization

Saturday, April 5th is expected to be largest day yet for nationwide demonstrations against the Trump administration as scores of groups come together for the “Hands Off!” National Day of Action. The Unitarian Universalist Association’s “Side with Love” campaign is one of the sponsors.

Since the new administration came into power in January, many expert commentators have noted that the Orwellian-named DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) is not in fact a department of the federal government, and its goals are not really about efficiency. Columnist Ezra Klein suggests that the true goals of DOGE are transparently about dismantling obstacles to Trump’s power, suppressing democratic institutions and norms, and serving the financial interests of the administration’s super-rich patrons. Journalists from multiple news outlets have reported that the group’s operations to take apart government agencies and services are likely illegal, and that the public claims it has made about finding fraud and reducing costs are false or, at best, misleading.

Join Faith In Action this Saturday in attending the rally and march to take place in Downtown LA — part of a nationwide mass mobilization in protest of the Trump/Musk assault on government, social services, education, jobs, the economy, science, national parks, and everything else they are not entitled to destroy. The organizers say:

“This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.”
