Animal Ministry Hosts Monthly Table

Hey, UUSM animal lovers!

Beginning Sunday, July 21, 2024, our UUSM Animal Ministry group will be available once per month to chat and answer questions about specific animal welfare topics. You can find us at our table in Forbes Hall after the Sunday service. Our first theme will be Companion Animals.

Donations of wet or dry pet food for the Los Angeles Animal Services Pet Food Pantries will be gratefully accepted at the table each month.

Our committee will also bring plant-based snacks to share at coffee hour on an ongoing basis.

Please plan to stop by and see us at our monthly table starting Sunday, July 21, and then once per month following Sunday services: August 18, September 15, October 20, November 10, and December 8. If you would like to visit our monthly meeting or join our group, find our next meeting date on the calendar.

Are you aware that since 1986 the Unitarian Universalist Animal Ministry has been a ‘thing’? (originally called UUFETA, Unitarian Universalists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals; now called UUAM). Visit them online for more information about their nationwide efforts.

The UUAM Pet Loss Support Group is offered on a monthly basis. New participants are always welcome to the one-hour monthly meeting, which occurs in the evening on the first Wednesday of each month. Topics have included the Stages of Grief, Grief Resources, Book Suggestions, Ritual and Mourning, and many others. For a Zoom link and passcode to the next session, please contact The Rev. Russell Elleven, DMin., UUAM Chaplain.
