For the months of March through May, a small subset of the large UUSM UU the Vote postcard-writing team that worked so hard before the 2024 election, was able to mail out 2,100 handwritten Get Out The Vote postcards. These postcards encouraged Black registered voters in Hampton County, Virginia, to vote early, reminding them to bring ID’s and instructing them on where to register and vote. On June 17th, voters in Virginia will take to the ballot box to name who they would like to represent their party of choice in several races in November.
We are expecting to hit the ground running as soon as we receive additional funding and instructions for the November 4th Virginia General Election. This election will determine who will be the next governor, attorney general, and lieutenant governor and could have historic results. Former Congressperson Abigail Spanberger is running for Governor against Winsome Earle-Sears, currently the Lt. Governor of Virginia. Whomever wins, Virginia will have its first-ever female governor!
This is only the beginning! Tell a friend!
