We need to talk. We know some members of our community are disheartened, or hurt, or angry, and we care very much about how you are feeling.
One of the ways to acknowledge these feelings is through Reflecting Circles — small groups that gather to speak from and listen to the hearts of one another. We have scheduled four Reflecting Circles this summer that will be facilitated by members of our community.
The purpose of the Circles is to share how our community members have been affected by events that occurred this Spring and to hear what people need and want from our community right now. We want to know how you have been impacted, and what we need to do, as a community, to heal and move forward. So please come and talk with us.
The facilitators are gentle, trusted members of our community. Cheryl Barnett, Gretchen Goetz, Denise Helton, and Karen Hsu Patterson. You may recall that in this type of a gathering, there are no question and answers, just opportunities for people to speak from their hearts to the hearts of their friends in the circle. The comments will be summarized, without attribution, and shared with the board when it reconvenes in the fall.
We are going to keep the sessions small, so please reserve a spot on one of these dates:
- Sunday, July 21 12:30 pm Forbes, Room 3
- Wednesday, July 31 7pm Zoom
- Sunday, Aug 11 10:45 am Forbes, Room 3
- Thursday, Aug 22 4pm Zoom
If many people sign up, we will schedule more sessions. Everyone will have an opportunity to speak and be heard. Childcare will be provided.
We hope that you will participate. Please RSVP by sending an email to Rev. Kikanza. She will provide the Zoom link if you are registering for one of the Zoom meetings.
