“Playing Nicely”

Why is shared leadership so difficult? Nurturing healthy relationships in a polarized environment is a challenge. While, there are good reasons for playing nicely together, it is not always easy to do. Even when you are in charge, you can’t always get what you want. Let’s explore some assumptions that create barriers and approaches for surmounting some of the barriers to playing nicely.

We come together for more than ourselves. Our collection this month will be shared with Clergy & Laity United For Economic Justice (CLUE). This network of more than 900 religious leaders brings together clergy and lay leaders of all faiths with workers, immigrants and low-income families in the cause of a just economy that works for all and protects those most vulnerable. Since 1987, CLUE has partnered with community organizations and labor unions to advocate for better working conditions, with lawmakers to establish policies that improve the lot of workers and their families, and with developers to demand agreements that require community benefits.
