We are almost complete with our share of postcarding for the 2024 Election!
We started out with the goal of getting out 18,000 cards. We hit that number in August and did not stop. We kept up Sunday morning gatherings, weekly morning and evening sessions, Saturday sessions, quiet, methodical, personal sessions, and small group friend sessions. And got some cards out to writers in our group that are not so close by (Mapleton OR, San Francisco CA, and Santa Barbara CA) but wanted to be on the team!
Last weekend, we flew by our second goal of 18,000 additional cards, which means…currently we have written and distributed 36,120 cards to challenged voters since we began in April.
YES!!!!
Nice work! Very nice work! I have heard from Reclaim Our Vote that our group totaled over twice as many of any other group’s postcarding in Los Angeles and Orange County, CA, which tells us and everyone else that it can be done.
Are we now ready to mail everything for Florida and Texas? Go ahead and mail out any cards that remain now. Let me know if you need any stamps.
Okay…because you wanted to get a few more in before the clock says “time”…we have a few more names for Montgomery County, Alabama. We have already been writing to Mobile County, Alabama. There is no early voting in Alabama so we have a few days after the 15th to get these in the mail. The courts decided on a redistricting map for 2024 that puts our issues in a good position to be cared about in the House of Representatives with a possible additional house seat in Alabama.
