Dear fabulous Voters/Postcarders/Postcard supporters:
Let’s fully embrace this good work again of getting more voters to go out and vote in crucial elections around the country. Let’s capitalize on the opportunity to naturally increase our strength and outreach. When we started out in March 2024, we forecast sending out 6,000 postcards (and before that, we sent out 5,800). You will recall that our great big group got down to it last year and completed and mailed 37,400 postcards. Incredibly helpful! With that immense effort we could clearly see that EVERY election is critical.
Okay. It’s time again. We need $$ to buy postcard stock, stamps, and writing materials.
From the amount we/us/you can contribute… we hope to then TRIPLE that amount with a Spirit Level Foundation Grant like we were able to last year.
Right now, our identified issues are being trampled, correct? The U.S. Constitution is a very important concept historically and for the future. Let’s make sure we all find ways to do meaningful work again in the upcoming elections. Our UUTV leaders will be letting us know what we can do, what options we can choose.

The biggest cost is the stamps. Let’s set an ambitious goal of getting $5,000 collected quickly. With that in hand we can apply for more. We know postcards sent to potential voters are very effective. So…can we raise the first $5,000.00 ourselves? I know so! Let’s do this quickly!
After that happens, we can be working to potentially triple that total, getting us up to $20,000.00 to work with because the Spirit Level Foundation may grant 3x what we gather. The only way we’ll know for sure though is to get the funds and try. The Spirit Level Foundation is looking to support hard working, effective causes such as ours. Let’s be that cause again.
Let us know what amount you can donate to help us get there. Thank you for any and all amounts. Please check with friends and family who can’t write postcards but who want to help us buy materials.
- Bring or mail a check to the UUSM office, made out to UUSM with UU the Vote on the memo line to make sure it’s applied to the correct financial fund..

- You can use Zelle, putting UU the Vote on the “What is this for” line.
- You can Donate Online directly into the UU the Vote fund.

Please let one of our UUTV valiant leaders (Carol Lim, Larry Weiner, Shanna Shake, and Sue Wiedem) know that you donated and the amount you donated so that they can keep track of totals for the purpose of getting the grant.

If you can’t write cards yourself or donate, there are other things you can do to support the effort. Please send this post others that may not visit our website. If you wish to exclusively write postcards or help in different ways, you are welcome too! Check in often on what the plan is and where the next set of cards are destined for. You’ll recall that powerful feeling of accomplishment as we just kept going and going last year!
Please hear my personal thoughts—
Let’s not be scared, complacent or dejected. Those working to beat us all down are strategic and determined. They count on the rest of us to think it’s not worth the time and effort. They pointedly utilize the news cycles to distract us from what’s really happening. They are empowered every time one of us says, “Oh, that’s going too far and could never really happen”.
Well, we know better. Much better. We know EVERY ELECTION IS CRITICAL.
Let’s completely confound their expectations.
