Women+ Community Gathering

January 25 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Free
Fun Gathering of Women+

Join us under the shade structure after the service for our potluck lunch and to share, reflect, and plan.

Luncheon at 12:15 – Make Your Own Quinoa or Rice Bowl with a variety of toppings and sauces (so much fun). Bring something to share if you can.

Program to Follow – This Sunday will be the first of a two-part series on the development of our morality and values.

For the past 40 years, Cheryl Armon has studied how moral development and values development occur across the lifespan. In January and February, she will guide us in learning more about ourselves through a series of reflective activities. In each session, participants will respond privately in writing to stories and questions. Cheryl will then explain how these responses are evaluated. Sharing responses will always be optional, and there are no right answers. The purpose of these exercises is self-reflection and learning.

Session One – January 25: Moral Development
We will explore what we believe is “right” by responding to a moral dilemma and then learn how responses can be understood using Lawrence Kohlberg’s theory of moral development.

Session Two – February 22: Exploring the “Good Life”
Using the same format, Cheryl will share her research on how people develop ideas about the good human life from childhood through older adulthood. Participants will again reflect privately and learn how to examine their responses, with sharing always optional.

Women+ includes our gender-fluid and non-binary siblings!

Contact us to RSVP or ask questions. Your inquiry is emailed directly to our team and we will respond promptly.
