Sunday Worship

Sunday Worship: So, Things Are Good?

Sanctuary 1260 18th Street, Santa Monica
Worship Services

Chaplain Michael Eselun, guest speaker; Dr. Susan Hendricks, worship associate. Popular guest speaker, church member, and oncology chaplain, Michael Eselun, will examine our cultural quest and even demand for “happiness” and for our lives to be good---to be “all good,“ in fact. How do we define happiness and “things being good?” What’s the criteria? Are those definitions universal? Or are they fluid? Join us in-person or online.

The exhibit features art created in our Religious Education program, as well as individual contributions that artists worked on at home. The reception will be held after our worship service in Forbes Hall.

Plant-based Cooking and Tasting

Forbes Hall 1260 18th Street, Santa Monica
Special Events

Cooking is an endless project. Finding ways to feed ourselves that meet our needs (and wants!) can be an ongoing research project, a source of unlimited experimentation. This Sunday, church members Amy and Bruno Lacombe will be sharing some of their favorite vegan recipes, and offering some tasty samples. Join us in Forbes Hall at 1 pm for a few delicious hours, and take home some ideas on how to expand your repertoire in the kitchen. Please RSVP to Judith Martin-Straw at adultRE@uusm.org as soon as possible so we may plan ahead for you.
