Youth Religious Exploration

October 23 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Bring your kidlets and join us as we build a beloved community in and through UUSM.

Sunday services start at 10:30. Arrive a few minutes early to settle in.

As we do each week, we’ll collect food for Westside Food Bank. If you can bring something from your pantry to contribute, that’d be great!

After the Story for All Ages, we’ll head to the Cottage for connection, community, crafts, and snacks.

In the Cottage, we’ll be Creating Home (see below for more info):

  • We’ll use the name stones we created last week in walking the labyrinth and setting intentions for a great new week.
  • We’ll be talking about the many symbols around the world that teach us the meaning of life, including the Unitarian Universalist Chalice.
  • We’ll create chalices to take home that you can light during special times like family dinners or other times you want to make special.
  • We’ll do some dancing.
  • Of course, we’ll have a snack.
  • You’ll get a handout that shares everything we did in the cottage including talking points with loved ones, and you’ll get some family rituals you might try at home.

After our service, kids are invited to help prepare Lunches for Bunches, our weekly service action that feeds our homeless neighbors via the Annenberg Access Center where they can take showers, do laundry, as well as get access to mental health services, substance abuse support, employment services, and more.
