UU the Vote Postcard Meetup

UU the Vote postcard writers will be meeting in the shade structure on Sunday mornings from 9 to 10:30 am starting on September 14th and until further notice. Please join us to share a snack and help save our democracy.

UPDATE from Larry Weiner after 9/14’s meetup:

Our UU the Vote efforts had a successful launch last Sunday.  We had 16 people take packets of 20 postcards each and one brave soul took 2 packets.  We are sending get-out-the-vote postcards to Virginia in preparation for their Gubernatorial election on November 4th.  We will be in the shade structure starting at 9 am each Sunday for the next 4 weeks.  There will be food, but if you are staying to write, please bring your own drink.  

The last date to mail postcards is October 20th, so a lot needs to happen fast.  Who else is out there looking to save our democracy?  The other thing we will need on an ongoing basis is money.  It turns out that there will be an election next November and it also turns out that postcard stamps are expensive.  

I am looking at this as a trial run.  Let’s get this party started!
