Sunday Worship: Imbolc and Brigid with CUUPS
Rev. Jeremiah Lal Shahbaz Kalendae, preaching
Rebecca Haggerty, Worship Associate
Imbolc is the Pagan celebration that marks the first signs of the coming spring. It is also called Brigid, after the Celtic goddess of poetry, healing, and the forge. She was honored with holy wells and sacred flames in pre-Christian Ireland, and lived on as St. Brigid when she was absorbed into Christianity. In this service led by members of CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans), we’ll explore how Imbolc embodies resilience – through the rebirth of the natural world, the goddess who adapts to survive times of suppression, and the emergence of new forms of earth-based spirituality. Join us for Sunday morning worship in our historic Sanctuary at 18th and Arizona, online or in-person.
