Sunday Worship: Stories We Leave Behind
August 6, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Chaplain Bronwen Jones, preaching
Jo An Peters, Worship Associate
Inspired by the lives of her oncology patients at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Bronwen explores the notion of legacy, that we create our legacy whether we want to or not. Every moment we are alive has the potential to be remembered by our loved ones and friends, our colleagues and peers. It is a subject rich for contemplation and creativity. We can harness our awareness of what is most important to us and have some potency in how we are remembered.
Bronwen Jones is the Cancer Center Chaplain at Cedars Sinai Cancer. Endorsed by the Humanist Society, she has been working full time to provide existential care to oncology patients for ten years. Prior to becoming a chaplain she was a professional musician, clarinetist, and film composer. Bronwen recently rejoined UUSM, having been on the board for eight years from 2005 to 2013 and serving as President of the congregation in 2011-12.
