We will meet in Forbes Hall on Saturday, May 23, 10:30 am to noon, to discuss The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable, by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. A black swan has three characteristics: it is unpredictable, has massive impact, and after the fact we construct explanations that make it seem more predictable.
