How Can We Talk about Gaza?

The Peace and Social Justice Committee welcomes Prof. Saree Makdisi from the UCLA Department of English on Sunday, March 3 at 12 PM to speak on the subject “How Can We Talk about Gaza?” in the sanctuary.
Professor Makdisi is the author of several books including his latest, “Tolerance is a Wasteland: Palestine and the Culture of Denial.” He spent much of his childhood in Beirut, Lebanon, received his BA in English and Economics from Wesleyan University in 1987 and his PhD from the Literature Program at Duke University in 1993. His interests are Postcolonial Theory/Transnational Studies and British Literature & Culture, 19th C. – Present.
