Green Living Adventure to Bixby Marshlands

November 1 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Bixby_Marshland_boardwalk_in_dry_season

Join the Green Living Committee on Saturday, November 1,  8 am – noon to visit the Bixby Marshlands in Carson.

Meet at UUSM at 8 am to carpool and return at around noon. To organize carpooling we need to know who would like to attend and who can drive how many people. Please RSVP to Alison Kendall at greenchair@uusm.org, noting whether you can drive others or if you need a ride.

Bixby Marshland is a Delta wildlife area operated by the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts in Carson, California, as part of the environmental mitigation of wastewater. The space is 17 acres in area and is a restoration of the old Bixby Slough. (Wikipedia)

Bring a hat, water and sack lunch. There are docents on the site for tours, and there is also an online self-guided option. You can see videos of past tours here:

Sarah Robson is spearheading the organization of the event.
