Message: “Honoring Thanksgiving/Thanxgrieving” from Rev. Jeremiah Kalendae

Rev. Jeremiah Lal Shahbaz Kalendae - November 21, 2021

Honoring Thanksgiving/Thanxgrieving

We honor this holiday with gratitude and grief as we count life’s many blessings and we also remember the brutal legacy of colonialism in the United States. Let us offer thanksgiving together and reaffirm our commitments to justice and wholeness for Indigenous Peoples. I will share the traditional story of the first Thanxgrieving from my late spiritual teacher, Ibrahim Baba.

From Monthly: "Holding History"

Holding History asks us to reflect on our roots. We remember all that brought us into being, and that holds us in our living. We offer thanks for it all. What memory holds your truest self? What memory will die with you if you don’t pass it on? Have you figured out the story you want to be remembered by?
