Spiritual Liberation

The Israelites are freed from oppression in ancient Egypt; Jesus seemingly defies death; and Muslims fast from the comforts of the world. These are among the traditions of spiritual practice that help us as we seek to transcend the ordinary limitations of human life and make meaning. Let's learn what spiritual liberation means to our liberal faith.

From Monthly: "Liberation"

Spiritual liberation can be seen as freedom from those things which are oppressive to our spiritual well-being. Such liberation takes on a variety of meanings in various religious traditions, and in our liberal church, spiritual liberation has meant revolutions in thought, doctrine, and the social order. We invite you to imagine in what ways our lives and the world might be liberated from outdated and oppressive paradigms.
