On Sunday, July 19th, UUSM bid an emotional farewell to our beloved Director of Music for the past eight years, Saunder Choi. He is moving to Neighborhood UU Church in Pasadena to become their Director of Music. In emotional tributes, Janet Goodwin from the Music Committee expressed gratitude from the choir and shared a slideshow depicting Saunder’s history at UUSM. Karen Hsu Patterson conveyed words of appreciation from Revs. Jeremiah and Kikanza. President Vilma Ortiz offered acknowledgements from the Board. Then Cassie Winters spoke eloquently about Saunder’s contributions to the UUSM community through his music ministry and conducted the Laying On of Hands blessing ceremony.
