An exciting new Skateboard Project will bring together the long history of our area (Venice Beach and Santa Monica) as the birthplace of extreme skateboarding and our beliefs as Unitarian Universalists.
Holding online activities can be a bit of a challenge, but the RE Movie night on Saturday, February 27, was a blast!
The twelve participants brainstormed as a team about the ways that could really reach out to UUSM’s kids in these difficult times. Discussion turned to the gifts the UUSM community has to offer and how these gifts could be matched up with our kids’ and parents’ needs.
This Fall, we will offer a deep dive into anti-racism with a “Growing Anti-Racist UUs” weekly curriculum for Pre-K through Grade 5, and book study groups for older youth and young adults.
Traveling by Metro, bicycle, and hybrid car, UUSM marchers joined friends from Climate Action Santa Monica, UU of SCV, and a sea of young climate strikers.
